GlobalFest 2012: Brazil Successfully Launches “Tropicalia” for Calgary Debut; USA Prepares for “Pops in the Park”, a Pyromusical Set to Top 40 this Friday

Brazil’s pyromusical show, titled “Tropicalia”, launched successfully tonight as GlobalFest at Elliston Park marked the second stop on their Canadian tour. The Brazilian team’s first visit to Canada was Vancouver’s famous Celebration of Light a few weeks earlier.
Meanwhile, USA’s Pyrotecnico, Inc. prepares for Friday’s show exhibiting current hits of American pop music. This includes hit singles from Rhianna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and the Black Keys. Their Calgary show for GlobalFest 2012 promises to be a high-energy, action-packed display set to familiar tunes that the audience will be sure to cheer for.
From 6:00PM – 9:00PM the GlobalFest 2012 OneWorld Festival hosts 15 Cultural Pavilions, 12 Ethnic Food Booths, 4 Performance Stages (including a new Urban Arts Stage), an International Café & Bar, and a Kiddie’s Korral packed with kid-friendly entertainment.
GlobalFest tickets and passes can be purchased at all Calgary Co-op Customer Service Offices, Marlborough Mall, Alberta London Drugs Locations, and at the on-site Box Offices. Please note that fireworks can be postponed due to any conditions that organizers may feel jeopardize public safety. The alternate performance is the day after the regularly scheduled performance.
