
How to get the most out of the Golder Associates OneWorld and Trico Homes International Fireworks Festivals
For the second year, both the Golder Associates OneWorld and the Trico Homes International Fireworks Festivals are in the same location: Elliston Park in East Calgary.
This year, Elliston Park is open from 6:00 pm - 11:15 pm on the following evenings:
Since the Golder Associates OneWorld Festival and the Trico Homes International Fireworks Festivals and are both held in Elliston Park, one ticket per person per evening is all you need! Tickets are date-specific and can be purchased individually or as a GlobalPass. A GlobalPass is single admission for every evening of GlobalFest (while quantities last). Children aged five and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

Elliston Park is located at the corner of 60th Street and 17th (International) Avenue SE in the Greater Forest Lawn area of East Calgary.
In order to promote environmental awareness, GlobalFest encourages guests to ride their bikes to the festival. Bicycle racks are provided free of charge at Elliston Park on a first come first serve basis.
Southland offers a round-trip shuttle service between Marlborough Mall and Elliston Park. A round-trip ticket costs $6 per person per evening. The shuttles arrive at the Southland Shuttle Gate on the North side of Elliston Park between 5:30 pm and 9:00 pm. At the end of, each night, the shuttles will return to Marlborough Mall between 10:00 pm and 11:15 pm.
There is no parking available at Elliston Park. Parking is limited to a number of lots operated by charitable organizations along International Avenue SE, and pricing begins at $10.00/vehicle.
GlobalFest encourages its patrons to use Public Transit, utilize the Southland Shuttle Buses available from Marlborough Mall, or the Trinity /Tristar Park and Ride Lot.
For patrons traveling from the north, the Trinity/Tristar lot is easily accessible and avoids the traffic congestion on 17th Avenue and 52nd Street. Travel east on 16th Avenue N (TransCanada Highway) to Garden Road (just past the new ring road construction), turn right (south) on Garden Road NE to 17th Avenue SE, turn right again (west) on 17th Avenue SE and you are just a short distance back to the Trinity/Tristar Park & Ride, which will be on your right side just before the 84th Street SE intersection. Prepare to turn into the lot just after the Welcome to Calgary sign.
Access is restricted to right hand turn only into parking area from westbound lane of 17th Avenue SE. Please do not make a left hand turn from the eastbound lane.
Greater Forest Lawn Community Carsharing will provide free transportation to and from the park for a limited number of families/individuals in the following communities: Erin Woords/Dover, Southview/Forest Lawn, and Radisson Heights/Alberta Park. For more information call (403) 305-3947.
Handicapped parking is available for those with a valid Handicap Parking Pass at the RONA Distribution Centre. The parking lot is located at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and 52nd Street SE on a first come, first serve basis.
GlobalFest reserves the right to inspect any packages brought into the park by patrons. Glass containers, alcohol and illegal drugs are all strictly prohibited. Beer, wine and a selection of international beverages are available for purchase on site at the OneWorld Café and International Bar. There is absolutely no smoking permitted within Elliston Park.
The Calgary Co-op Kiddies Korral will feature the Telus World of Science Street Team that will encourage the kids to "Take to the Skies". The activities provided will include kite making, stomp rocket making and how to make paper airplanes.
The Calgary Co-op Kiddies Corral is also proud to feature the Kids Help Phone. This year is the Kids Help Phone's 20th anniversary and they are thrilled to be returning to GlobalFest in 2009. Come out and join us for face painting and a craft activity which will engage and delight youth, as well as educate them about the important services Kids Help Phone provides for young people in Canada. Kids Help Phone is Canada's only toll-free, 24-hour, bilingual and anonymous phone and web counseling, referral and information service for children and youth. Come out and see us to learn how Kids Help Phone is dedicated to being there for kids every day.
With the exception of service dogs, no pets are allowed in Elliston Park, due to the loud noises created by the Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival. So please, leave your four-legged friends at home.
GlobalFest offers general festival seating. There are two large seating bowls created by the landscape of the park with the south seating bowl also facing the OneWorld Centennial Stage. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the park to make themselves more comfortable.
GlobalFest also offers Guaranteed Seating Passes for $25. The Guaranteed Seating Pass includes bleacher seating in a prime viewing location, a parking pass and complimentary shuttle service to the park. A specific area in the middle of the north bowl is reserved specifically for those with disabilities.
Our concessionaires offer festival fare including hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, refreshments and much more. Products will be available from ASK Funnel Cakes, The Brew Company, Cowboy Popcorn- Kettle Corn, Fiasco Gilato, Lil'Orbits and the Rotary Club of Calgary East.
