Volunteers Needed!
GlobalFest is looking for new and returning volunteers to help with their 10th Anniversary Celebration. The GlobalFest OneWorld and Trico Homes International Fireworks Festivals take place this August 16 - 26 at Elliston Park. Volunteers will be able to contribute to their community while enjoying all of the sights, sounds, and sensations of the festival! All ages are welcome to volunteer (those 14 years of age and under must be accompanied by a legal guardian).
 
Benefits of volunteering include:
-          A free festival t-shirt
-          Free parking
-          Complimentary snack and beverages
-          A site pass for all six (6) nights of the festival
-          A volunteer appreciation celebration; and
-          The opportunity to participate in the only festival of its kind!
 
All volunteers must commit to working a minimum of three (3) shifts.

GlobalFest’s 10th Anniversary Celebration is sure to be the biggest year of programming in the Festival’s entire 10-year history. The GlobalFest OneWorld Festival boasts ethnic food booths, an international bar, cultural pavilions, children’s activities, performance stages, and an Aboriginal Tipi Village – with all of these activities having opportunities for volunteering. At the end of each evening, the Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival will ignite the night sky as pyromusical performances from Philippines (2011 People’s Choice), Mexico, China, Brazil, USA, and Canada fill the evening with a symphony of light and sound!
 
The mission of GlobalFest is to produce for the people of Calgary and visitors to our City, a world-class, multi-cultural festival and international fireworks competition that will offer the viewing public an affordable and accessible multi-faceted cultural experience. It is the intention of GlobalFest to use this platform to generate cultural awareness of and significant funding for local community groups as well as foster economic development in East Calgary and beyond.
