Volunteers Needed

We are looking for new and returning volunteers to help with GlobalFest at Elliston Park. Volunteers will be able to contribute to their community while enjoying the sights and sounds of the festival.

Volunteer areas include:

  • Box office
  • Children's activities
  • Dispatch
  • First aid
  • Golf cart drivers
  • Hospitality
  • Information
  • International bar
  • Merchandise
  • Parking
  • Photography
  • Security
  • Senior and handicapped seating assistants
  • Signage
  • Site set-up and tear down
  • Surveys
  • Ticket takers
  • Traffic
  • Volunteer tent
Individuals of any age are welcome to volunteer; those under 14 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Benefits of volunteering include a free festival t-shirt, free parking, complimentary snack and beverages, a site pass for all five nights of the festival, a volunteer appreciation celebration, and the opportunity in the only festival of its kind. All volunteers must commit to working a minimum of three shifts.

We will be holding two volunteer orientations at the Blackfoot Inn (5940 Blackfoot Trail SE). One will be held on August 4, 2009 at 6:00 pm and the next will be held on August 9, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Please note, volunteers are only required to attend one of these orientations but attendance to at least one is mandatory.

  • Office Help (Prior to the festival) : Customer service, put together volunteer packages
  • VIP Hospitality (18+) : Assist with running VIP tents, sell drink tickets, assist with food & beverage
  • Children's Activities: Teach and oversee the construction of craft items for children
  • Operations : Staff entry gates, take tickets
  • Parking and Traffic : Direct drivers, check parking passes
  • Site & Signage Crew: Set-up and tear-down
  • Security (18+) : Help keep park secure, staff entry points, check ID's
  • Surveys : Approach patrons and take surveys after the fireworks show
  • Volunteer Tent Assistants : Pack and distribute snack bags to volunteers, pick-up and deliver food on-site, help with volunteer check-in
  • OneWorld Café and International Bar: Pouring drinks, selling drink tickets, bussing tables and recycling cans/bottles
  • Will-Call Ticket Booth : Sell tickets, coordinate the pickup of audience passes
  • Handicapped Seating Helpers : Assist patrons to seating areas, ensure safety and comfort of guests
  • I am willing to work wherever is needed!

We also have specialized volunteer opportunities for qualified professionals:

  • Stage managers or theatre students
